What should a late blooming JC be doing in the lul before Cataclysm?  I only made a JC to work in conjunction with my Xmute spec’d Alchemist.  It was a very wise choice as I made a lot of money off of Red/Yellow Epic cuts alone. Being able to cut those gems was great.  But now with the Saronite Shuffle dry as bones and gems selling like crap I am unsure what to do.

I do not own every epic recipe.  I only have the two most popular of each cut and even those struggle to sell. So right now I am sitting on 60 tokens.  Dragon Eyes’ are selling for 100g each.  Should I pull the trigger and just buy/dump them all?

The completest in me wants to finish buying off the recipes………..the goblin in me says convert the tokens to dragon eye’s because they will probably be worthless come Cata when a new JC token and daily is probably instituted as a way to earn new patterns.

I am sitting on about 100k set aside for Cataclysm.  I don’t want to touch any of that so I am seeking more funds to be able to make the last few frivolous purchases of WOTLK (mechano-hog, etc).

Please Advise!

So the 2 map packs for MW2 have been out for a while & are probably due to go on combo sale soon but wtf, I needed some new stomping grounds.

I have grown tired of run and gun,  and am going to make my 1st serious attempts at being a sniper.

Report to follow soon!

Love the Iphone, wish there was open source support for this kind of stuff:

There is no lack of headsets for the PS3.  I have tried a few of them.   My 1st was a Jabra 125.  While it held a good charge and was comfortable it was horrible at noise cancelling.  Being vigorous with the control sticks?  The mic was picking up all of my thumbed furry.

Next purchase I would read up on all the reviews and not make a hasty decision.

In the meantime I used my Logitech ClearChat from my PC that was strictly used for WoW previously.  While it worked great it was wired.

Many months ago Sony developed and released their own Blue Tooth headset.  It was bundled with a game though.  Now it is available stand alone and has gotten very good reviews.  I just picked one up last night for the glorious price of free (giftcards)!  Review to follow soon.

Just under 100 days to go till release and GTPlanet is following the road to release very closely.  The game is already sitting in the top 50 for both the regular ($60) and collectors editions ($100) of the game.  I am going with the regular edition and using the $40 I saved towards some DLC.  How about you?

Nice weather, new house, longer commutes, drunken BBQ’s and general malaise; yep, it’s summer time!  So where does that leave WoW?  Well not much playtime to be honest.

I got a Friends and Family invite so I copied Twan (Warlock) over and finished off 1 of 2 starting zones and capped at 82.  Since then the level cap has been raised to 83 and the whole talent overhaul was posted.  There is a large patch file between me and testing out this content and I hope to get to it next week sometime.

Through random dailies and professions my Deathknight (Crosstobear) has reached 71 and my Priest (Nawt) is sitting at 76.  My next goal is to get the Priest to 80 and the DK to 75.

Auction House

Just because I got a new iPhone doesn’t mean I see the new AH application to be worth the $3 a month.  I just post the old-fashioned way!  Currently sitting on 113k.  There are still a few vanity pets I would like to buy and the shiny chopper mount.  I also want to have approximately 150k on hand for cataclysm launch so I will continue the grind.

Yes I am Insane and yes I have already started collecting the materials.  It is going to be a long long long long long long grind.

Stay tuned for more posts tracking my adventures in Azeroth.  They will be split between posts pertaining to each of the 4 categories above (Beta/Alts/Auction/Insane).

My recent hiatus is over, lets talk about PS3 preorders!

It’s a good time to be a PS3 owner.  Top notch titles keep plugging away, PS3 slim has seen a resurgence in sales numbers, more and more classic PS1 titles are hitting the Playstation Network,  Bluray sales are reaching new heights, a new PSPGO! promises further remote play interactivity and just in time!  I say just in time because I need something to pull me away from the WoW grind and the PS3 is my answer.

There were plenty of distractions with the flurry of outdoor activities that summer provided over the last few months.  As the school buses clog my morning route to work and nighttime temperatures force me to get up in the middle of the night and shut the windows, I know it’s time to preorder some games to keep me sane.

Top of the list that I have already preordered are Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Gran Turismo 5.  CoD will without a doubt be released on 11/10/09 but Gamestop’s date of 2/2/10 for Gran Turismo 5 is unconfirmed.  The only real news we have on a release date is that it will launch in Japan sometime in March, 2010.

CoD will last me and others a good long while with its online component, that’s for sure.  But can it hold my attention solely for 4 months?  I don’t think so.  I have been resisting the urge to pickup FallOut 3 till the Game of the year edition.  It hit’s 10/13/2009 but there is no money in my gaming budget for it.  I guess I will try to pick it up used somewhere between CoD trailing off and the launch of Gran Turismo 5.

So I am almost set for the time being.  To fill in the gap(s) I’m looking for something non-RPG/racer/shooter.  Any suggestions to preorder for the PS3?

Digital Foundry scored an interview with engineer, Darren Thickbroom to get to the bottom of why this last round of consoles have made so many strides but have fail rates much higher then we have seen in previous generations.  The culprit?  You guessed it,  fiery heat shot from the devils red dick!  OK so maybe Darren had a more professional way of saying it.

It’s just the general design and the heat factor,” he says. “Everything’s combined into such a small space, the heatsinks on the GPU are relatively small, there’s a lot of heat to dissipate and it can’t do it. The trapped heat warps the boards and that’s what causes the problems over a long-term period.

Head on over to the story to get some interesting technical info.

Wii have a problem

“Wii have a problem” is a blog focused on bringing you the latest trend in gaming violence. That of damage caused by “window lickers” who should not be participating in activity of any form… yet own a Wii. Why? Because we’re fanboys that’s why.

Fucking Fantastic!

I was 2 weeks late in downloading the Battlefield 1943 demo and to the chagrin of Electronic Arts it didn’t prompt me to pay for the full game.  What it did in fact was drive me right back into Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.  Being able to hop into a tank, jeep or plane was pretty cool but the rest of the game fell flat.  In talking with other friends who didn’t so much care for Battlefield or COD4 it pushed them back into their shooter(s) of choice which was usually Killzone2 or Warhawk.  I guess it reminded many of us that took a break from FPS shooter games that we don’t have to wait for Modern Warfare2 to get back into shooters as there are many out there to choose from with thriving online environments.  For now I am re-exploring COD4 and Killzone2 taking pleasure in fragging all the shit talkers.
